Schools traditionally focus on imparting knowledge, filling students' heads with facts and figures. But what about the skills needed to navigate our world? Here, I argue that education should extend beyond textbooks, it should promote a growth mindset and critical thinking in a safe and supportive environment. Imagine a student encountering a challenge. A fixed mindset whispers, "I can't do this," while a growth mindset roars, "Yes, I can! Why not?" Schools should promote the latter. By encouraging a growth mindset, we equip students with the belief that their abilities can improve with effort. This builds resilience, a crucial skill for overcoming obstacles and achieving goals.
