FOMO Mindset

FOMO stands for "fear of missing out."  It is the feeling of anxiety or uncertainty that arises when someone feels they might miss out on an opportunity, event, or social interaction.  FOMO can manifest in many different ways, such as feeling left out when friends are making plans, feeling pressure to always be available to attend events, or feeling the need to constantly check social media to see what others are doing.  FOMO can be caused by a variety of factors, including social comparison, the constant bombardment of information on social media, and a lack of self-esteem or self-confidence.  It can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, and even lead to making impulsive decisions.  It's important to recognize when you are experiencing FOMO and take steps to manage it, such as setting clear priorities, practicing mindfulness, and surrounding yourself with supportive people.
